EASTVIEW HIGH PRODUCES A WHIZ KID A Pioneer A-level class of 2016 pupil of Eastview High School, Precious Bhiri, is now regarded as the school academic doyen, as she scored 15 points; History A, Sociology A and Literature in English A in the November 2016 Zimsec examinations.

The soft spoken Precious said she attributed her success to hardwork, discipline, dedicated teachers and faith in God.As the pioneer A-level crop of students at Eastview High School we were subjected to extraordinary challenges of setting high standards in all our school’s important facets that called for a focused, serious, disciplined and results based scholar. I am glad I have excelled and hope my fellow student successors should at best strive to break this record or at worst achieve a similar score,” said Precious.

Precious’ guardian Ms Madiro expressed joy and was pleasantly surprised by her niece’s achievement. “This is a stunning performance and we are overjoyed as a family. Quite frankly, this is a precious moment for us to have a girl child from a humble background attaining such wonderful academic results”.

On what contributed to Precious’ impressive performance she said; “Well, Eastview High is undoubtedly behind this milestone achievement. When we registered her for Form Two, we were inspired by a newspaper story of a girl child, Mazvita Ndawana, who attained first position at national level in three Science subjects in the Cambridge O-level series at Eastview. Apart from this, Precious is a disciplined and God loving child. Once she starts on a desired programme she diligently stays the course.

We have always impressed on her that life is not about where you come from but invariably it’s about where you are going. Important decisions should be based on this philosophy,” quipped Ms Madiro. The headmaster of the the school, Mr Cleopas Pedzisa said; “Precious’ excellent performance is a good omen that our newly established A-level division is set for a bright future.

I am elated to witness my students’ academic success. I am relieved that all our effort was not in vain. My congratulations and good wishes go especially to Precious and her family, students and teachers of my school for a job well done. We hope our current crop of students shall emulate Precious’ excellent deeds.”

Other top notch performers include Ropafadzo Masora who attained Divinity B, Literature in English C and Sociology B, in November 2016 A-level Zimsec examinations and Ighodharo Osagiede who got Mathematics B, Business Studies B and Economics B in the Cambridge A-level November 2016 Examinations.

Eastview High School is no stranger to a league of schools that produce whiz kids. A couple of years ago another pioneer O-level pupil in the November Cambridge Examinations O-level series, Mazvita Ndawana clinched first position nationally in three science subjects; Mathematics, Geography and Biology.

She was rewarded with three invaluable certificates for attaining top positions in outstanding Cambridge learners in Zimbabwe, sponsored by the British International Examination council board in collaboration with the British council and the Joshua Nkomo scholarship fund.

Mazvita defied the commonly held societal belief that the girl child plays second fiddle to her male counterpart in matters pertaining to outstanding performance in science subjects at school.

First Sabbath offering For Zimbabwe West Zimbabwe is a landlocked country in southern Africa known for its dramatic landscape huge mineral deposits and diverse wildlife. On the mighty Zambezi River, Victoria Falls, one of the seven wonders of the natural world, make a thundering 108m drop into narrow Batoka Gorge. Zimbabwe's capital is Harare Zimbabwe is bordered by South Africa to the south, Botswana to the west and southwest, Zambia to the northwest, and Mozambique to the east and northeast. Most Zimbabwean Christians are Protestants. The Protestant Christian churches with large membership are Anglican, Seventh-day Adventist and Methodist. There are about one million Roman Catholics in the country . The country enjoys complete freedom of worship. The Population of Zimbabwe is about 16 million In 2008, with inflation skyrocketing to an astronomical 231 million per cent , the country's currency totally collapsed and became worthless. To stabilize the economy the government adopted the use of the - United States Dollar as its main currency. Our message reached Zimbabwe in 1928. T.T.Ndlovu, a teacher,at solusi mission saw a letter with Reform Movement letterhead in the pastors office.Since he did not know about the existence of such an organization , he copied the address and started corresponding with brethren from Europe. He started preaching the reform message and was banished from the mission to his home area where he eventually pioneered the first reform movement church in Africa. Although in 1951 the enemy attacked the reform movement and caused a chasm within the church, ,faithful members regrouped and since then the work has been steadily developing leading to the establishment of a field and a mission. Recently brethren in Zimbabwe started projects , through self sacrifice ,of building memorials in form of church buildings. Now it has become necessary to build the headquarters, housing church offices ,preschool and a health center. We are appealing to all brethren ,sisters and friends around the world for prayers and donations to accomplish this major development befitting to a country which was the first in Africa to receive the reform message and spread it to other nations in southern Africa Your brethren from the Zimbabwe West Field

2017 outlook
As the year ended we had print and electronic mark schedules. This helped us view areas in which students have special needs and beginning 2017 students accounts will be customized with e- learning resources based on those resources with individualized study plans for each student. In this way ,if for example ,in
form one , 5 students failed in accounts and 10 in English ,these students will have comprehensive amount of content in areas they have an urgent need. It is our plan to use e-learning as a tool to improve students performance. All forms will be grouped and then further regrouped in line with past performance. In the coming year, online
tests will be introduced .These will give results in real time
helping our assessors nip the problem in the bud ,so a student that was an average performer will have his/her performance be improved.
